Presented By: Dr Herb Daly, Senior Lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Wolverhampton
Many organisation that rely on IBM i have experienced challenges in recruiting and retaining new talent on the platform. Some say it is among the biggest areas of concern when planning future work. Despite the strengths and longevity of the i-platform and the availability of potential newcomers, finding skilled, enthusiastic staff can be a struggle. At the same time, record numbers of students study computing and IT related subjects at degree level so how have these two worlds failed to connect and what can be done about it? Based on his work over the last 10 years with the IBM Z community, Herb Daly from the University of Wolverhampton, will outline the key opportunities in working together with universities, highlight common mistakes in creating the right relationship and help you discover a strategy that makes sense for your organisation.
